Remembrance Parade

Dear Parents,

Remembrance Sunday

As you will all be aware, each year the 1st Sutton Coldfield Scout Group participates in the Remembrance Parade at St. Michaels Church in Boldmere together with our colleagues from Guiding UK and many other local residents.

This year our Scout Group will assemble in full uniform at St. Michaels Church, Church Road, Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield B73 5RX at 10.00am on Sunday, 13th November 2016 and will dismiss at  approximately 11:15am.

The Remembrance Parade is one of two formal activities in which the whole Scout Group participates each year (the other being the district St Georges Fun Day in Sutton Park) and I consider it a very small imposition for our Young People to attend. These formal occasions are to be considered a duty in line with the Promise that we all made when becoming members of the Scout Movement and the act of Remembrance is an insignificant inconvenience when compared to the ultimate sacrifice made by the men and women we are remembering at this time.   Therefore, it is to be considered mandatory for all our Young People, Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts, to attend the Remembrance Parade.

If you have any questions or concerns about attendance at the Remembrance Parade, I should be happy to discuss them with you.

Yours sincerely,

Robert Moore

Group Scout Leader
